PRACTICAL GUIDE: "MENTAL HEALTH AND PROFESSIONAL RESILIENCE OF MEDIA PROFESSIONALS AT WARTIME"

Within the framework of the project "Resilience and Well-being of Ukrainian Media Professionals at Wartime" (ReWell-UMedia), a practical guide has been developed and published.

The guide was created in response to the real challenges that media professionals face on a daily basis in the context of full-scale war – chronic stress, professional burnout, working with traumatic content, and a high level of responsibility for information.

This is not a theoretical publication – It is a practical support tool.

The guide combines explanations of psychological processes with practical techniques that help to:

  • stabilize emotional and psychological states in stressful situations
  • manage emotional workload
  • prevent burnout
  • restore personal resources and maintain professional effectiveness

The material is structured according to the principle:
understanding → awareness → tools → application,
which allows it to be used both in everyday professional practice and in crisis situations.

The guide is intended for journalists, editors, producers, camera operators, media managers, and all professionals working with information in wartime conditions.

It is also particularly valuable for newsroom leaders as a tool for fostering a culture of support and resilience within teams.

The project "Resilience and Well-being of Ukrainian Media Professionals at Wartime" (ReWell-UMedia) is implemented by the NGO "Social Perspective." This initiative has been made possible with the support of UNESCO's Participation Programme, in coordination with the Ukrainian National Commission for UNESCO and the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine.
