Today, war is not only a men's business anymore. About 17% of women defend the country in the ranks of the Armed Forces, territorial defense units and along with men defend our right to life and freedom, often surprising their colleagues.

However, today's war is not only about women in combat.

Women on the home front also play an important role, uniting society in an effort to help defend their country as much as possible.

They are volunteers, medical workers, all those who work to support the country's economy, fight the enemy on the information front, provide for their families, help others cope with the consequences of war.

It was during the war that Ukrainian women's organizations turned into humanitarian ones, taking on the most urgent problems.

The activities of local community leaders are important. Despite the military threat, and sometimes the threat to their own lives, women stay with their communities, accept the challenges of wartime at the head of civil-military administrations, carry out covert guerrilla activities in the occupied territories, and conduct active information work in social networks, on television, forums and meetings within the country and abroad.

It is for such incredible women that we launched a program in August. This is a program to support female volunteers "Woman in Time of War: Volunteer, Leader".

It is implemented within the framework of the project Ukrainian Women's Democratic Network SUPPORTING WOMEN'S INITIATIVES DURING WAR IN UKRAINE in partnership with USAID Ukraine and the International Republican Institute - IRI Ukraine.

The program is implemented by the Vinnytsia Institute of the University "Ukraine" and the NGO "Social Perspective".
